Illmasqua Liquid Metal - Surge review + photos + swatches

Hello beautiful people :)

I'm hoping you all are having a great day or night :)

I'm back today with a review on Illmasqua Liquid Metal cream eyeshadow in the colour Surge.

This is a picture heavy post, mind you!

OK, this is the baby in pictures

And... my opinion on this product..

Well, well, well..

I'll start with saying I adore the packaging and Illmasqua brand in general and I've been obsessed with this brand lately.
Finally, I decided to try their liquid metal eye shadows and the colour Surge caught my eye. To be honest I didn't know what to expect from the colour, but I was blown away by it when I received this beauty. I think it is difficult to get the colour right on the camera, it looks more silver on camera than it should. I would describe this colour as a blend of gold and silver which is so stunning and unusual as normally you see either of the colours.

I do love this colour and I think this is the best thing about this product because I got disappointed with the quality of this product.

The reason is that liquid metal creases like no tomorrow on my oily eye lids. I'm not sure if it even lasts an hour.

This is such a disappointment, Illmasqua.

I wish there was a way to make it work, to get it last longer. If anyone know, please, please, let me know.

Regarding the texture and formula, liquid metal feels soft and smooth to touch. I applied it with my finger tips and it glided on easily. You can apply it sheer or heavily, to the point when it will look beautifully metallic, but, the more you put on, the quicker it will crease.

8g will cost you £17.50

It just failed in one important thing which makes it not worth the price tag for sure.
I'm sorry Illamasqua Liquid Metal I will not be buying you again, unless there will be a way to make you stay for longer..

I'm currently looking for an eye shadow with a similar colour because I just love the colour, which makes it even more disappointing.

Thank you for stopping by,
Tanya xx

Did you use a primer with this eye shadow? I have been using Soap and Glorys 'Its about Prime' primer and it has really helped stoped my eye shadows creasing. Check out my full review of it here http://lolainthelounge.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Smokey%20Eyes hope it helps :o) x

Yep I use a primer or something similar all the time.. It could be that primer isn't that good, so maybe I should try Soap & Glory primer :)
      Thank you for advice xx

    1. I've not actually tried their powder eye shadows yet, I def need to get some, especially since they have a lot of matte formulas which I love :) I'm just not sure what colours to get first :) xx
